Lakeside Skate School

 

Based on the US Figure Skating Learn to Skate USA curriculum, Skate School offers programs for skaters of all ages and abilities from beginner never skated before all the way to advanced figure skaters.

All ages from toddlers to adults.

Wednesdays 4pm, Fridays 4pm & 5pm, Saturdays 9:45am, 10:30am, 11:15am  Sundays 9:45am, 10:30am, 11:15am

 

Hockey Learn to Skate

 

 (Saturdays 9:45am, Sundays 9:45am) 

For beginner players that want to learn to skate and become hockey players.

 

Saturday AM Hockey Clinic 

 

Lakeside Brooklyn Hockey offers a program for ice hockey players that have advanced through basic skating, NHL Learn to Play and are currently playing organized hockey at the youth recreational or travel level.   Our Hockey SKills and Drills program will focus on all the skills necessary to be a proficient hockey player.  Focus on skating, puck control, shooting and in game concepts will be reviewed in a station based, age appropriate training environment.   

 

Saturday 8:30 - 9:30 am

 

Youth Hockey Program - 14 and Under

 

The Lakeside Youth Hockey Program for 14U players is a twice a week program offering a combination of skills instruction and team play concepts and training.  The skills sessions will work on those skills required by both individual players as well as teammates.  Emphasis will be on overall skating skills while incorporating puck control, body position, shooting, passing and fundamental concepts found in the game of ice hockey like support, gapping, angling and positioning.  

 

 Participants will be distributed into 3 different age appropriate / skills appropriate groups to allow for increased participation, puck touches, instruction and team building focus. 

Wednesdays 5:00 - 6:00 pm Skill Sessions  

 

 Sundays  8:15 - 9:30 am  Game concept & techniques

NEW! Girls Hockey Clinic with NWHL All Star Kiira Dosdall Arena

 

Learn from a NWHL (National Women's Hockey League) All Star and current Metropolitan Riveters player Kiira Dosdall Arena as she helps develop a high performance academy for girls hockey players in and around Brooklyn New York.  As part of the program Kiira will be introducing the girls to ice instruction, virtual zoom classes and access to Project Hockey for 3 months free of charge.

 

 All these programs together are structured to provide more instruction and mentorship to competitive girls hockey players that want to continue to develop and bring their game to the next level.      

 

NEW! NHL Supplemental 

Lakeside Brooklyn Hockey is offering a new program this season for those players that are signed up for either the Islander or Ranger NHL Learn to Play program.  This supplemental clinic will be formatted to mirror the NHL learn to play programs and will follow USA Hockey’s ADM format and station based, age appropriate training based curriculum.

NEW! NHL Learn to Play @Lakeside 

The Islander and Rangers Learn to Play are programs that provide a unique opportunity for families to join the hockey community and for participants to develop fundamental skills to help them succeed both on and off the ice. Created jointly by the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) and the National Hockey League (NHL). Learn to Play’s goal is to inspire youth and welcome more families into the hockey community.

NEW! Private Pods

Beginner Pod is $250 per person for 5, 30 min sessions

(3 person min 6 person max. scheduled upon request and availability)

Advance Pod is $500 per person 5, 60 min training sessions

(3 person min 6 person max. scheduled upon request and availability)

Private pods — also called “pandemic pods," — are small groups of students (typically three to 6 children) who learn together outside a larger group class. Students will gather together in a small group – with coach supervision. Usually, pods are formed when families in a neighborhood or vicinity bring children similar in age group together. Offered to all ages and levels.    

 

NEW! Private & Semi-Private Lessons

(scheduled upon request and availability)

Many skaters supplement their group lessons with private instruction. Private and semi-private lessons may be arranged with any of our Professional Lakeside Coaching staff.

Private lessons are one on one. Semi-private lessons are 2 skaters to 1 instructor.

Adult Hockey Clinic

(Mondays 6:30 - 7:30pm) 

For players that have the basic fundamentals of skating and want to practice and improve isolated hockey skills, ie shooting, stick handling, power skating, hockey drills, etc.  

*A $20 winter season registration fee will be added one time per season per person to all programs.
