Learn to Skate Hockey (beginner level)

First time on the ice

NHL Learn to Play at Lakeside(recommended for players that can skate and stop with confidence)

The Islander and Rangers Learn to Play are programs that provide a unique opportunity for families to join the hockey community and for participants to develop fundamental skills to help them succeed both on and off the ice. Created jointly by the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) and the National Hockey League (NHL). Learn to Play’s goal is to inspire youth and welcome more families into the hockey community.

Registration for both the Islanders and Rangers programs can be found at their respective sites.

NHL Supplemental

Welcome to a new season of NHL Learn to Play sponsored by the New York Islanders.  We are excited once again to offer this great introductory hockey program to the Lakeside Brooklyn Hockey community.

We will be offering a new program this season for those players that are signed up for either the Islander or Ranger NHL Learn to Play program.

Our NEW NHL supplemental clinic will be formatted to mirror the NHL learn to play programs and will follow USA Hockey’s ADM format and station-based, age-appropriate training curriculum.  This is a great opportunity to get your child on the ice another time each week and help them jumpstart their development.

The program will be run by the same friendly faces players will see with the Islanders and Rangers programs and will even wear their designated jerseys acquired through that program’s registration.

We look forward to having your player join us for this supplemental clinic throughout the NHL program offer this season
